Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) has completed, as noted by its General Manager, Nilaksh Kothari, “a successful and uneventful go-live” of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution from Advanced Utility Systems (Advanced).
Along with CIS Infinity, MPU also went live with the Advanced applications Infinity.Link and Infinity.Mobile in January. Infinity.Link is a customer self-service solution and Infinity.Mobile is a complete workforce automation application that leverages mobile and wireless technologies to optimize service order processes.
Mr. Kothari comments, “Our sole focus is to continuously find ways to exceed our customers’ expectations. The Advanced suite of solutions supports us in our efforts, whether it is Infinity.Link enabling customers to access their MPU accounts on a 24 x 7 basis or Infinity.Mobile and CIS Infinity streamlining field work for more efficient customer service.”
Other drivers for MPU’s project included implementing solutions that best met their functional and business requirements, employing a system that is built using up-to-date technology and utilizing applications that could easily adapt to business changes that occur at an ever-increasing pace.

MPU has been delivering electricity to the City of Manitowoc, Wisconsin since 1914 and providing water service since 1911. It has a customer base of 17,500 accounts, and today, along with electricity and water, bills for a wide range of services including sewer, security lighting, fire protection, steam, and fiber optics.
