Santa Rosa completes CIS Infinity and Infinity.Link implementation with Advanced

Santa Rosa, CA and Toronto, Canada. March 2, 2010

The City of Santa Rosa (the City) has completed their implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution from Advanced Utility Systems.

The City provides water and wastewater service to approximately 52,414 customers that include residential, commercial and industrial accounts. To handle billing for many of these accounts, complex rate configuration and formulas were required. As Patty Kutches, Revenue Operations Supervisor explains, “We have a sizeable number of accounts that present fairly complicated billing scenarios. For example, we have to deal with instances of looped meters as well as additive and deduct meters.”

“We anticipated that this would present a significant challenge and that there would need to be some creative ideas to get these billing scenarios to work. The Advanced project team did an outstanding job. They were able to understand the issues, develop a plan to ensure the accounts billed correctly and were able to help automate the process.”

Peter Fanous, General Manager for Advanced, comments on the City’s project team. “From the very beginning the City knew what direction they wanted to take with respect to business processes. We were able to clearly document their needs and work flow. This laid the foundation for and informed every step of the implementation resulting in a successful go-live.”

With CIS Infinity in production, the City has already noticed that their collections process has been streamlined considerably.

The City went live on Infinity.Link – the Advanced electronic bill payment and presentment solution - concurrently with CIS Infinity. Ms. Kutches notes, “We are really pleased with Infinity.Link. Our customers have been very receptive. It has enhanced our customer service functions including increasing our ability to take credit card payments over the phone.”
