Riverside, CA and Toronto, Canada. February 11, 2010
On-schedule and on-budget, Western Municipal Water District (Western) has completed the successful implementation of their new customer information and billing solution, CIS Infinity by Advanced Utility Systems.
Western notes that the success of the project was due in large part to the Advanced Implementation Team. As John Rossi, general manager at Western states, “The entire Advanced project team worked together across company lines to seamlessly complete the implementation on-time and on-budget. In particular, the Advanced Project Manager and Technical Support Team worked tirelessly and were critical contributors in the project’s success.”
Peter Fanous, General Manager of Advanced adds, “Our focus is on consistently delivering successful implementations. Every go-live is important to us and we are proud to have brought Western live. He goes on to say, “With another go-live we are able to underscore the effectiveness of our implementation methodology combined with the skills and expertise of our staff. I must also give credit to the Western team. Their commitment to the project and excellent organizational effectiveness made this an efficient and collaborative effort.”
From the beginning, Western’s goal in implementing a new customer information and billing solution was to improve their customer service capabilities while also deploying a system that is secure and reliable.
CIS Infinity addresses Western’s goal as it is built using Microsoft development tools resulting in a reliable technology base. Enhanced customer service is achieved through many avenues within CIS Infinity, including an easy-to-use interface that provides access from the account inquiry screen to all customer information with the click of a mouse, automation of communications with customers and the ability to track all customer correspondence.
Western will also be able to take advantage of CIS Infinity’s powerful rate engine that is capable of handling more complex rate structures than the District’s previous system. This capability is an important component of Western’s ongoing water use efficiency programs.
In addition, Western is currently using Infinity.Link - the Advanced online bill presentment and payment system - and benefitting from the interoperability CIS Infinity easily lends itself to. Greg Duecker, Western’s director of Administration/Information Technology, comments, “Western is particularly excited to have access to real time payment information through the use of CIS Infinity and Infinity.Link as well as interfaces to our payment processing and bill presentment vendors.”
Western Municipal Water District provides an imported water supply, wastewater treatment and water resource management to the communities within a 527-square-mile area of western Riverside County.
