Indian River County Utilities selects Harris’ Advanced Utility Systems

Harris Computer Systems ("Harris”) is proud to announce that Indian River County Utilities, Florida (IRCU) has selected Advanced Utility Systems’ CIS Infinity to replace its legacy utility billing module. Indian River County Utilities is Advanced’s fifth client in the state of Florida.

Indian River County is located in the central region of Florida on the East Coast with its county offices residing in Vero Beach. Indian River County Utilities provides water, wastewater and reclaimed water services to approximately 44,000 customers which are billed on a monthly basis.

Indian River County Utilities is replacing a utility billing module of an ERP system that did not provide the functionality and flexibility that was necessary for IRCU to deliver the highest level of customer service to its customers. Instead of a utility billing module, IRCU was looking for a Customer Management System that was designed to deliver the required functionality and flexibility as well as grow with them as the utility grows.

After the evaluation of a number of companies, IRCU shortlisted three and proceeded with demonstrations and reference activity. In the end, the evaluation team unanimously selected Advanced Utility Systems and CIS Infinity.

“We were looking for a new system that would allow us to provide services that our customers are requiring, improve efficiency by automating manual tasks and integrate with key systems such as GIS, all while providing a system to our users that is intuitive and easy to use. One specific improvement for our customers will be in the area of on-line customer self-service. IRCU customers will have the ability to go on-line to see their balance, usage and other important information and they will also be able to pay their bills on-line,” states Erik Olson, Director, Indian River County Utilities.
