City of Richland, Washington selects Harris’ Advanced Utility Systems to implement CIS Infinity

Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harris Computer Systems is pleased to announce that the City of Richland, Washington, has selected CIS Infinity as its preferred customer information and billing solution. The City of Richland strengthens Advanced’s presence in the state of Washington serving as the fourth Washington utility soon to be live on CIS Infinity.

The City of Richland is part of the rapidly growing Tri-Cities Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located in the center of Washington's expanding wine country. Modern-day Richland dates from 1943 when the U.S. Army acquired 156 miles, including the Richland town site as the location of the Hanford Works, a primary component of the World War II project to develop the atomic bomb.

Richland is now a full service city providing multiple utility services. The Public Works Department currently manages water, wastewater, solid waste and storm water divisions while its Energy Services Department provides electricity to a population over 41,000.

CIS Infinity will provide the City with extensive functionality configured to meet the high demands of a multi-service Utility. As well, the City will utilize the real time integration Advanced offers from its CIS Infinity application to Harris’ GEMS Financials.

As Melody Kendall, Accounting Operations Supervisor notes, “CIS Infinity demonstrated comprehensive and flexible functionality that met the business needs of multiple services and bound it with a robust customer service module, providing us with an integrated tool that will increase our efficiency and support to our customer base.”

The implementation of CIS Infinity is set to start over the coming weeks.
