Chandler, AZ and Toronto, ON. August 7, 2014
The City of Chandler (the City) has completed a successful implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution offered by Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced).
Having outgrown its existing Utility Billing System of eleven years, the City required a state of the art, customer-centric solution to replace it, in order to effectively serve its customer base of 80,000.
According to Stephen White, Utility Services Manager, "In order to consistently provide our customers with high-levels of customer service we needed to capitalize on both process and technology efficiencies with the implementation of a new enterprise utility billing system."
“During the discovery workshops Advanced conducted as part of our implementation, we were able to establish a best practices approach to managing the processes within our utility. This in effect will elevate our customer service operations as we have replaced manual processes with automated ones which can be run at particular times and dates. This will allow our staff to dedicate more time to front-line inquiries and issues rather than repetitive tasks.”
Mr. White continues, “From a technology standpoint the top benefits are that CIS Infinity is easily integrated with other City systems for streamlined information exchange, relies on configuration rather than code modifications for exceptional solution adaptability and provides the ability to easily allow for customer self-service via the internet.”
Moving toward a customer self-service focused environment, the City implemented Infinity.Link to enable an additional customer touch point with the ability to record customer contact and assist in managing the City’s relationship with their customers.
Infinity.Link is a complete Internet solution by Advanced that puts the power of utilities and its Customer Service department on their web site. With Infinity.Link, customers can get real-time information on their account 24 hours a day seven days a week. They can easily look up consumption history, log service calls, review and pay their account, print bill history, and submit meter readings whenever it is convenient for them.
Infinity.Mobile was also installed for mobile service order management.
In addition to the process and technical benefits, the City will also be able to take advantage of how functionally rich CIS Infinity is to meet its operation requirements. CIS Infinity offers complete functionality for the management of Accounts, Customers, Billing, Service-Premise, Credit and Collections, Customer Service Care, Financials, Inventories, Rates – including Water Budget-based Rates, Service Orders, Usage and Reports.
Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President of Advanced, elaborates on the advantages of CIS Infinity: "CIS Infinity combines comprehensive functionality, current technology and best practice workflows that ultimately help utilities see significant improvements in their customer service functions as well as revenue stream."
