Padre Dam Municipal Water District Completes CIS Infinity Implementation With Advanced

Santee, CA and Toronto, ON. February 13, 2014

Padre Dam Municipal Water District (the District) has completed its implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution (CIS) offered by Advanced Utility Systems, a division of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Advanced).

The District’s legacy CIS was custom written in an outdated language over 10 years ago and could no longer be supported. The system was antiquated, forcing the District to employ an elaborate system of checks and balances as well as several manual, paper-heavy processes for task and work completion.

According to Laura Evans, Customer Service Manager, “With substantial limitations in our legacy CIS and significant improvements in utility billing technology that were available on the market, the software replacement project was deemed necessary so we could improve our mission-critical, day-to-day utility billing services. We also wanted to ensure these services could be provided in an efficient, reliable and cost effective manner. Advanced was unanimously selected as the only candidate whose products and services fit our scope requirements.”

Ms. Evans continues, “We ended our CIS implementation with a successful Go Live on our target date in December 2013 and we are already starting to see the positive impact CIS Infinity can have on utility operations. We are noticing significant improvements in productivity and billing accuracy provided by CIS Infinity’s sophisticated automation and workflow tools. The intuitive nature of the user interface has improved customer service as all customer details can be reviewed and maintained from a single screen for efficient information lookup.”

Peter Fanous, Executive Vice President of Advanced comments: “Efficiency and first-rate service are high priorities for the District. They continually seek new ways to reduce cost, streamline workflow processes, improve customer service and ensure accuracy. One major way they are accomplishing these goals is by taking advantage of proven solutions such as CIS Infinity.”

In addition, to implementing CIS Infinity, the District installed Infinity.Mobile which reduces paperwork and increases accuracy of the service order process through an easy-to-use web-based dispatch application.

Padre Dam provides water, wastewater, recycled water and recreation services to 100,000 residents in the San Diego suburbs of Santee, El Cajon, Lakeside, Flinn Springs, Harbison Canyon, Blossom Valley, Alpine, Dehesa and Crest. The District is a public agency with policies and procedures directed by an elected five-member Board of Directors.
