The City of Everett, Washington goes Live with CIS Infinity

CIS Infinity in full operation to handle the Billing and Customer Management needs for the City of Everett, Washington.

Toronto, Canada. September 9 , 2003

Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced) is pleased to announce that the City of Everett, Washington (Everett), the water and sewer provider, has gone live using CIS Infinity® as their customer information and billing system. Everett has replaced an older CIS solution in order to upgrade the functionality, performance and reliability of the software.

Everett has approximately 24,000 active water and/or sewer customers and provides water to eighty percent of the residents in Snohomish County serving a population of approximately 400,000. The water is distributed directly to customers or through wholesale water providers throughout Everett's drinking water service area. In addition to providing services to the citizens of Everett, the system serves 33 water districts and cities providing them with water and/or sewer service.

By the time that CIS Infinity went live, the City of Everett staff knew the software thoroughly. Myron Tollefson, Project Manager for Everett said "Our staff was very well versed on CIS Infinity's features and functions by the time we went live, due to the extensive training provided by Advanced. Our staff is comfortable with the tasks required to do their jobs day-to-day and are confident that CIS Infinity will enable them to be more efficient."

To improve efficiency and customer service, Everett uses a scanner to read barcodes printed on their bills to automatically post bill payments to CIS Infinity's cash register. Advanced customized a usage graph onto the bill format to reflect the way the City bills its customers. Additionally, the Everett team will be billing on a daily basis using CIS Infinity, rather than billing weekly as they did with their previous system.

Patricia Sorbara, the President and CEO of Advanced commented on use of CIS Infinity at Everett. "The City of Everett will be able to bill their customer daily instead of weekly using CIS Infinity. This will allow them to better manage their billing cycles and ensure they are on top of the incoming revenue stream. "

CIS Infinity's Advanced Reports have given Everett the ability to drill down into their data via customized reports using filters. This is far more powerful than what they had the ability to do with their previous system.

CIS Infinity's rate engine has given Everett the ability to normalize their rate structure allowing fewer rates to handle more situations. This allows for more granularity in the breakdown of revenue related data.

During the implementation Advanced lead an effort to scrub and organize Everett's water meter inventory data. CIS Infinity's meter inventory allows for the inclusion of meter types and subgroups to assist in organization of data. Its' built-in functionality of drop down menus will help to maintain the clean data going forward. CIS Infinity's meter batch entry functionality makes adding new meters into inventory quick and easy.

Advanced now has a growing presence in Washington State, with the City of Bellevue, the Peninsula Light Company and the City of Everett as clients.
