Bellevue, Washington and Toronto, Canada. May 28, 2003
After an extensive and rigorous search for a CIS solution that aligns with their goal of providing exceptional public service, the City of Bellevue is pleased to announce the selection of Advanced Utility Systems' CIS Infinity®.
The City is in the early stages of implementing CIS Infinity to manage the Customer Service and Billing requirements for 40,000 drinking water, wastewater, and storm and surface water customers.
Nav Otal, Assistant Director, City of Bellevue Utilities, explains the value of the selection process that brought them to Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced): "We didn't want to get caught a few years down the road with a limited solution. We checked references and visited sites and scrutinized the next-phase plans for CIS Infinity and Advanced as a company. We feel great about moving forward with such a strong organization."
The "next-phase plans" include moving CIS Infinity to the Microsoft .NET framework, employing COM components, and taking advantage of the inter-operability of both. The result will be a forward-facing CIS solution built on a foundation of exceptional performance in the utility industry.
Patricia Sorbara, President and CEO of Advanced, sees great technical opportunities for the City of Bellevue implementation. "The City has a unique, progressive rate structure, like storm and surface water charges that factor in impervious surfaces for driveways and decks. It's a great opportunity for us to show what our technology can do, and demonstrate how CIS Infinity can present a bill with that level of detail and clarity."
CIS Infinity's Rate Infinity technology is designed to handle any degree of complexity in a utility's rate structure, for a wide variety of residential clients and large industrial accounts.
The City of Bellevue represents a consolidation of Advanced Utility Systems' market presence in Washington State, joining the City of Everett and Peninsula Light Company in Gig Harbor.
