CIS Infinity Is PA-DSS Compliant

Advanced provides CIS solution that is critical to PCI compliance

Toronto, Canada. December 22, 2010

On October 20, 2010, CIS Infinity, Advanced Utility Systems’ customer information and utility billing solution, was officially certified as being Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) compliant.

PA-DSS is one of the standards the PCI Security Standards Council manages and is applicable to software vendors. This standard is part of the council’s mandate to enhance payment account data security by driving education and awareness of the PCI Security Standards.

The council was formed in September 2006 by the five major credit card brands - Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB [Japanese Credit Bureau]. It was formed for the purposes of creating one unified security standard for credit card payment processing.

Adhering to the PCI Security Standards is mandatory and applies to any organization that store, processes, or transmits credit card data.

By being PA-DSS compliant, CIS Infinity provides the following to utilities:

  • Protecting customers’ sensitive data based on industry standards
  • Increased credibility and security for your organization
  • Avoidance of fines by credit card brands and federal agencies
  • Preventing the loss of the ability to process credit card payments

Sakis Mamuzelos, Director of Research & Development notes, “We are committed to ensuring that our solutions are up-to-date so that they support mandated government requirements and adhere to industry standards.”

“We are proud to have been extremely proactive about getting CIS Infinity certified. The importance of this certification, for us, is twofold. Firstly, we believe this underscores the fact that we are driven to be industry leaders. Secondly and most importantly, however, this certification shows our dedication to protecting our clients’ customer data and that developing secure applications is of the utmost priority for us."

CIS Infinity is included in the PCI Security Standards’ List of Validated Payment Applications: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/approved_companies_providers/vpa_agreement.php
